Protect from moisture – Hearing aids now are equipped with sensory technology with a circuitry system in their shell. Even though a lot of hearing aids today come with modern waterproof technology, it is better to keep the device dry if you are going to take a shower or take a dip in a pool. You’d want to remove them. If at all your device has contact with water, wipe them dry with a towel and never use any kind of electric dryers, as they might damage them.

Clean your device’s battery – It is recommended to remove the batteries from the device when you aren’t using the device or while sleeping. The moisture in the device and battery may damage the device. If for some reason you’re not using the device, open the doors of the battery and keep it in dry places.

 Whenever you remove the batteries or change them, always remember to clean the device with a dry cotton cloth or swab. If any dirt accumulated in the battery slots, then the device’s performance may get affected.

Protect the device from moisture – It is known that it’s impossible to avoid your device from earwax. Earwax’s moisture may affect the performance of the device. So it is suggested to clean your device from time to time with a dry cotton swab.

Cleaning filter from time to time – Every hearing aid device uses a filter which protects the device from moisture. Check whether there’s any build-up wax on the filter, clean it with utmost care as the filter is sensitive. Your audiologist can also help you to pick the best filter suited for your hearing profile.
