    As a layman to understand what are the Different Types of Hearing Aids?

    Behind-The-Ear (BTE) – BTE hearing aids are amongst the most versatile and functional with an extensive array of hearing loss. Nowadays almost all BTE models are covering technical features like directional microphones, multiple listening programs and tele-coil for better experience for the user. The hearing aid is positioned at the back your ear and attached to a custom ear mould placed inside your ear. BTE hearing aids are efficient and sturdy, and among the different types of hearing aids.

    Receiver-In-Canal (RIC)/Receiver in the ear (RIE) – Either “receiver in canal” or “receiver in the ear” — they are one and the same. This is one of the most well-liked and accepted, among different types of hearing aids. Even though RIC devices are placed behind the ear, the tiny, sleek design means that they are hardly noticeable when worn, and they facilitate apparent & confident communication.

    In-The-Ear (ITE) – ITE hearing aids are specially made from an impression of your ear canal, and have no noticeable wires or tubes. ITEs are inserted inside the ear, are less in weight and less evident than BTE devices. It is a reliable solution for a broad range of people, with its small size, customizable switches, and color options it stands out as a very useful option among different types of hearing aids, especially for those who are suffering from moderate hearing problem.

    In-The-Canal (ITC) – ITC hearing aids are bit bigger and more noticeable than CIC hearing aids, but they also facilitate additional advanced features like longer battery life and directional microphones. They are best for users with mild to moderate hearing loss. In-the-Canal hearing aids are simple to insert, uncomplicated to remove, and effortless on your eyewear. Because they fit completely in the ear canal, these devices won’t interfere with eye glasses, hats etc.

    Completely-In-Canal (CIC) – Almost invisible when worn, CIC hearing aids fit completely within the ear canal. They are most suitable for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. Completely-in-the-Canal devices are in the midst of the least visible hearing aid types. Placed deeper in the canal allows these units to gives lucid sound with less wind meddling, one gets a more natural hearing experience among different types of hearing aids.

    Invisible – In – Canal (IIC) – Intended for mild to moderate hearing loss, these hearing aids sit in or past the second bend in the ear canal, making them invisible to virtually all observers. These invisible hearing aids put forward the most advanced sound-processing and noise-reduction technology. Invisible-in-the-Canal devices are offered for all, but the most acute degrees of hearing loss.
