Single-sided hearing loss is the hearing loss in one ear (can be left or right). Usually, this sort of hearing loss is framed as unilateral hearing loss or one-sided hearing loss. It can range from mild to severe or profound hearing loss and eventually alters the quality of life. 

Causes for Unilateral Hearing Loss

There is no such theoretical or practical proof that single-sided hearing loss is caused only in children. It can be in both adults and children.
